I forgot my Login ID/Password. How can I retrieve it?

On the home page click on the link that says forgot Login ID/Password. Fill out the required fields and follow the instructions.

How can I change my Login ID/Password?

Login ID can not be changed but you can change your password as well as profile name(display name which is visible to the visitors). Go to edit profile by clicking on the Update Profile link in the Smart Links section on your My Life page. Choose account settings. Here you will find the option to change your password. Once you change the password click Update.

You can change your profile name any number of times.
Go to “My Life”. Click on Update Profile link in the Smart Links section. Now you will find an option to change your profile name. Once you change your profile name click Update.

How can I change my profile pic?

You can change your profile picture any number of times.
Go to “My Life”. Click on Update Profile link in the Smart Links section. Now you will find an option to change your profile picture. Once you change your profile picture click Update. Acceptable formats for profile pictures are JPG,JPEG,PNG and GIF.

I am unable to see my profile picture after uploading?

In case you have uploaded a picture that was downloaded from your Orkut account you may have problems seeing the picture. If so please upload a picture from another source.

How can I change the look and feel of My Profile page?

You can change the look and feel by following these simple steps :

Visit www.irockslayouts.com
Choose a design for your page
Click on "Get Code" and copy the code
Now go to "Edit Profile">"Account Settings" in Indyarocks
Paste the code from irockslayouts in the box that says “Add your own css effects”.
Click Update. Now you can see the chosen design as the back ground for your Profile page.
ADVANCED USERS: You can also select any other image of your choice as the back ground for your Profile page by changing the image url in the above code.
There is NO LIMIT on the number of times you can change your background image.

What is a CSS effect?

CSS stands for cascading style sheets. Using CSS effects one can change the way their “My Life” Profile Page appears. For more information please look at "Profile page designs" section of Help.

Troublesome members

Occasionally you might encounter users who may cause some trouble to you. Indyarocks enables you to avoid further encounters with such users by preventing them from accessing your page; you can visit their profile page and find a link named "Bookmarks" on the left hand side of the page. Click on "Bookmarks" and on the resulting page select "Block Users" in order to block that user for future.

Invite friends

How can I invite my friends to join me at Indyarocks?

You can make your experience at Indyarocks more exciting by having more friends. One way to increase your friends number is by using the "Invite" link in the "People" Menu. On that page you can find a tool which can import your contact list(address book) from different email service providers.

From the list you can select or de-select to whom you wish to send the invite.

Please note that we respect your privacy and we do not store your contact list in our system.

Find Friends

How can I find Friends who are already on Indyarocks?

Click on “People” and in the sub-menu you can find a link called "Find Friends". You can enter your email id and password of various email service providers and using the import tool you can view all your friends who are already registered at Indyarocks. If you find that none of your friends are registered at Indyarocks, using the same tool you can invite them to join you.

Please note that we respect your privacy and we never store your contact list when you use the import tool

What are Tags

Find Friends

Tags are nothing but keywords which will help us in searching/finding information for you. Tags can be used for easy search of your profile or photos at Indyarocks.

Eg: A tag word FUN for a photo will help in the search for all the photos that have been tagged as FUN.

- A tag word Tennis for a profile will help in the search for all people who have given the tag word Tennis for their profile.

RSS Feeds

RSS Feeds @ Indyarocks

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. This is a technology that allows you to read all your favorite articles from a particular source. Indyarocks enables you to access all your favorite blogs/news stories/articles from different sources on the web in your blogs section via RSS Feeds. You have the capability to customize your privacy options for your RSS feeds in order to control access for others. The RSS Feeds option can be accessed from the Blog submenu.

Embed videos/photos

You can embed videos/photos in the following locations at Indyarocks

MyDiary- Get embed code for your favorite video (YouTube, meta café etc) and paste it in the submit box and click submit. The videos you place in “MyDiary” are available only for your viewing.

Forums- When posting an article, you can link up photos from your Indyarocks albums using the "Click here to add photos from albums" link. Its a simple and quick way of adding your photos. We give you the flexibility to use your content from where ever possible. If you wish to link an image from an external site you can click the option on your forum editor and add the image URL for the image. If you wish to add a video then click on option on your forum editor and add the video embed code and click on update.

Blog- When posting an article, you can link up photos from your Indyarocks albums using the "Click here to add photos from albums". Its a simple and quick way of adding your photos. How do I report inappropriate content?

There is a report abuse link available at all potential points of source i.e photos, blogs, forums etc. You can use the link to send us the info about why you find the particular content offensive. You can also use the "Contact Us" form to get in touch with us.

You can use the "Contact Us" form to report about spammers/imposters.

What is Indyarocks policy on copyright violation?

It is Indyarocks policy to 1) Block access to or remove material that we believe/find out is copyrighted material which has been illegally copied/distributed by any of our users on Indyarocks. 2) Stop Indyarocks service to repeat offenders.

How do I report a copyright violation?
Contact us using the "Contact Us" form and provide us with as many details as possible. We shall get in touch with you for any other required details and shall take necessary action.

Profile Privacy

We respect your privacy and have enabled privacy options for photos, blogs and your profile. By setting the security options for your profile you can control who can view your profile page. To set the desired privacy for your profile, you can visit "Account Settings" under your "Edit Profile" section and select the desired option for "Show Profile" (either friends or every one).

Who can rate my profile?

Any member of Indyarocks who has visited your profile can rate you.

How can I know who has rated me?
From your profile home page, click on the rated image to see who has rated you. This feature has been enabled on 18th june 2007. Therefore any ratings that you had received prior to 18th june 2007 will continue to remain anonymous.

Can I also unrate a person?
Yes. You can unrate a person whom you had already rated. Visit the persons profile page and then click on the "Rate User" side link. On the resulting window click the "x" button below the desired rating to unrate.
