At a time where movie screenings were unheard of by the common man in India, Dhundiraj Phalke accidently stumbled upon a rare screening. Recently out of a job and fascinated by what he saw he decided to make India`s first Feature Film, `Raja Harishchandra`. In the movie we see his impressive efforts, joined by his wife and two kids. They encountered difficulties but mostly had a gala time. Their efforts bore fruit when the movie became the first super hit. In 1914 Phalke gave up offers to make films abroad as he wanted to make place for this exciting industry at home. The movie has been selected by The Film Federation of India as the official entry for the oscars.
Synopsis: Two thieves, Khalujan (Naseeruddin Shah) and Babban (Arshad Warsi), feeling frustrated with the lives they are leading under their ruthless ganglord Mushtaq (Salman Shahid), they steal the sum of 25 lakhs from him to flee to their home and not remain slaves to the system they are working under.
