Situated in the western Ghats,Courtallam is one of the well known tourist attractions in tamil nadu. The waterfalls of courtallam is endearingly called the  'Spa of the South' because of its medicinal properties. Besides a tourists spot it is also a pilgrim centre as Lord siva has His abode here.

       The season at courtallam is from june to september but the weather is refreshigly  pleasant throughout the year. There are nine waterfalls in and aroung town.

     They are Peraruvi, Aintharuvi, Chitraruvi, Shenbagadevi aruvi, Then aruvi, Pazhaiya courtalla aruvi, puli aruvi, puthu aruvi, pazhathotta aruvi
