Door County, Wisconsin is a popular destination for thousands of people every year. As people check out Door County for some rest, relaxation, time on the water, and good food little communities with populations of less than 500 people swell to large crowds through the summer weekends.

The Inn at Kristofers, located on Bay Shore Drive-in Sister Bay, Wisconsin, is an excellent place to get a special meal. My partner and I treated ourselves to dinner there during our latest visit to Door County and we were really glad we did. We'd a great dinner.

The first thing we discovered after being seated was the wonderful view of the water. The restaurant is directly across the road from the Bay in Sister Bay and large picture windows along the front wall of the restaurant showcase the water view.

Immediately after being seated our water glasses were filled and a wedge of fresh lime was added. We got menus and fresh, warm, multi-grain sheets. The rolls were served with butter rosettes flavored with fresh basil.

I had the qualified Angus filet mignon, and our oldest child, who'd joined us o-n our holiday, chose the Roast Duck with Orange Grand Marnier sauce.

We missed salad, soup, and snacks although the soup for the morning, walnut butternut squash bisque topped with pecans, seemed delicious because we wanted to save yourself room for dessert.

All three entrees were outstanding. The presentation of the plates was pretty and the meals tasted as good as it seemed. The Angus filet had a Cabernet sauce which was the perfect touch with the beef. Home-made garlic mashed potatoes and a garnish of haystack potatoes rounded out the entre. The combination of creamy vanilla custard, stiff caramelized sugar, and Grand Marnier was de-licious.

It is a great place to go for an unique meal whether its for someones birthday, anniversary, or just to treat yourself, even though Inn at Kristofers isn't an inexpensive restaurant. I recommend trying it. The food is very good and so is the service. Though we didnt have reservations when we dined there, you might want to call forward and make reservations, particularly if you are maneuvering to Door County through the busy summertime (
