3 Useful Online Photo-Editing Sites

Almost all bloggers use Photo Editing tools like Photoshop and GIMP. The main reason it the we cannot afford to hire an expert whenever we want to modify a photo, like adding text to it or changing its size etc, specially when all this is so simple. But it may happen that we do not have access to these tools,due to some unavoidable circumstances. In these cases, these free online, yet powerful tools come to the rescue.

These sites are also very useful when you do not want to use those heavy applications for small applications. All of them offer basic photo-editing functions for free although there may be a premium (or rather ‘pro’) version for advanced features and tools.

#1 – SumoPaint.com

This is perhaps the webs best online photo editor and painting software. It has both professional and free versions. The free version it itself feature loaded and fast. In-fact, unless you are an advanced Graphics Designer you will not need the professional version at all. It is available in six different languages and also has a full-screen mode for ease of use. You can also register for a free account at SumoPaint which will give you features like saving your images with layer data, share your work, you can also use it to backup your files and access them from anywhere. You can also use it as a guest. To start using SumoPaint, you can open a new, blank canvas, open an image from your computer or a URL. #2 Splashup.com

Next to Sumo paint is Splashup. It is also a very advanced image/cum photo editor. It has almost all the features of SumoPaint. It is fast, light and the interface is very good. It is also available for free download (Splashup light). You can open a new image (blank) or you can also open a photo from your desktop, from a URL, or from various social networks (like facebook). Splashup gives you the additional option of clicking a photo through the webcam. Splashup it compatible with most browsers and it even has its own file format which can be read by the online editor or its downloadable version.

#3 Pixlr.com

Pixlr, like the former two, is a fast and full-featured image editor. It is for people who are relatively new to image or photo editing. It allows you to open images from either your computer, or a web address or you can also opt to use a new blank file. You can specify the width and height of your canvas. It contains mainly basic functions, like selection tool, paint bucket tools, lasso, gradient, text etc. It however allows you to use layers which is one of its few advanced features. It also has an app for iOS and Android. There is a separate area where you can apply vintage effects to your photos. This however can pickup images from the webcam.
